Cultural Audits
The Challenge
In today's world, we are confronted at every turn by differences. The methods we use to connect with others from different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestyles must adapt. What breaks down barriers are opportunities to engage authentically - mainly when we see and experience positive, affirming connections cross-culturally. Our challenge is to understand ourselves, understand others, and translate that understanding into actions and behaviors that positively impact our organizations. Culture plays an enormous role in an organization's health, but it can feel invisible to those immersed in it. This is why a cultural audit is a good idea.
Why Do A Cultural Audit?
Your organization's culture is created from the messages people receive about what is valued. We demonstrate it though what we do, rather than what we say. Your culture is the patterns of behavior that establish what is required to fit in. These patterns reveal what is valued. Your people receive those messages from three main channels: Behaviors, Symbols, and Systems. A Cultural Audit identifies the messages staff currently receive and then assesses whether those messages are the right ones, or if they are sending contradictory signals. A Cultural Audit aims to create increased levels of insight to determine how your current activities collectively shape all biased behaviors embedded in the culture. Whatever your reasons, a Cultural Audit helps determine your overall working environment, employee sentiments, and established rules around employee interactions and team communication.
Our Approach
Cross Cultural Agility, LLC.'s Cultural Audits are thorough, organizationally specific, and can include program and facility site visits, employee and stakeholder interviews, website, marketing materials, policies and procedure reviews. The end goal of unmasking the behaviors, symbols, and systems is to unveil your organization's true drivers.
Our consulting approach is designed to conscientiously guide your organization to Cultural Transformation through Intercultural Expansion; while building the competency within your business to support, manage, lead and measure culture. We make a difference you can see, feel, measure, and sustain.
